George Kaludis, Ph.D., Chairman and President, has more than 40 years of diverse higher education experience in strategic planning, executive/governance relationships, economic system design, executive team building, organizational development, and finance and management. Before founding Kaludis Consulting in 1977, he served as Director of Planning and Evaluation at the State University System of Florida and Vice Chancellor for Operations and Fiscal Planning and Associate Professor of Management at Vanderbilt University. Dr. Kaludis has held several national leadership positions in higher education, including serving on the National Commission on the Financing of Postsecondary Education and as Chairman of the National Center for Higher Education Management Systems. He holds BA and MEd degrees from the University of Maryland and the PhD degree from Florida State University.

Barry M. Cohen, Senior Vice President, has more than 30 years of strategic planning; resource development; organizational and operations assessment; systems and process appraisal and redesign; and communications and marketing experience in higher education and industry. He leads the firm's consulting in Institutional Advancement, and specializes in Advancement strategy development, fund-raising readiness assessment and enhancement; image and identity research; strategic marketing planning, and institutional positioning. Before joining Kaludis Consulting in 1979, Mr. Cohen held several positions in the Office of Public Affairs at Baylor College of Medicine and served as Executive Director of Marketing and Corporate Development for ARA Health Facilities, Inc., the long-term care and retirement-housing division of ARA, Services, Inc. He holds BS and MA degrees from The University of Texas at Austin.

Elliott Haugen, Senior Vice President, has more than 30 years of information technology leadership and consulting experience in higher education. He evaluates and advises on management, planning and organizational issues; administrative/enterprise systems projects; academic technology development; service and process enhancement; staff/professional development; and infrastructure improvement. He leads the firm's information management and technology practice. Before joining Kaludis Consulting in 1998, he served as Associate Vice President for Information Technology Services at Saint Louis University and as Associate Director for Academic Computing at North Dakota State University. Mr. Haugen is a long-time, active member of EDUCAUSE, hosted CUMREC-97, and served on the EDUCAUSE and CAUSE boards. He holds a BS degree from North Dakota State University and MBA degree from Minnesota State University Moorhead.

Glen Stine, Ed.D., Senior Vice President, has more than 30 years of experience in higher education, including strategic planning, strategic financial planning, and finance and operations management. Before joining Kaludis Consulting in 1999, he served as Vice President for Budget and Finance of the University of Colorado; Executive Director of Resource Planning and Budget for the University of Pennsylvania; and Vice President for Management of the University of Massachusetts. Dr. Stine also held positions with the Massachusetts Board of Higher Education and the Ohio Board of Regents. He is a former member of the Pew Higher Education Roundtable and the Forum for Higher Education Futures Group. He holds a BS degree from Michigan State University, an MPA from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, and an EdD from Harvard University.

Gwenn Weaver, Vice President, has almost 30 years of project management, strategic planning, process redesign, administrative policy and procedure development, assessment, change management, and information technology planning and management experience in both the public and private sectors. Prior to joining Kaludis Consulting in 2001, she served as a division director with a small technology services firm, Director of Information Technology Services at the American Council on Education, and Director of Information Resources at Harvard Business School. Ms. Weaver also served as Assistant Bureau Chief for Management in the Cable Services Bureau of the FCC and Deputy Assistant Director for Information Management in the Office of Administration of the Executive Office of the President (White House), where she was responsible for management of both the Information Systems and Technology and the Library and Research Services Divisions. She holds a BA degree from SUNY Buffalo, an MBA in Information Systems from UCLA and an MS in Library Science from the University of Illinois (Urbana).

Anna Caraveli, Ph.D., Senior Consultant,has more than 25 years of experience in educational program development; strategic planning, brand development and market positioning; constituency and industry relationships. Prior to joining Kaludis Consulting in 2006, she held senior management positions in the membership and education divisions of highly respected research and educational organizations, including the Smithsonian and Brookings Institutions, where she founded and led signature educational initiatives. As a higher education consultant, Dr. Caraveli has been instrumental in increasing universities' responsiveness to student and stakeholder needs and carving new positions of market leadership. She holds a PhD in Comparative Literature (with a secondary concentration in anthropology) from Binghamton University.

Robert Donaldson, Ph.D., Senior Consultant, has more than 35 years of experience as a higher education executive and internationally known scholar. Before joining Kaludis Consulting in 2004, he served president of Tulsa University and Fairleigh Dickinson University, and Provost of Lehman College, City University of New York. He also served as Associate Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and professor of Political Science at Vanderbilt University. Dr. Donaldson has been a tenured faculty member at four universities, and is active in international relations and political science scholarly circles. He has consulted in the areas of strategic planning and academic planning, and also developed and negotiated numerous international educational partnerships and conducted national higher education plans (e.g., management education in post-Soviet Russia). He holds AB, AM, and PhD degrees from Harvard University.

Betsy B. Draper, Ed.D., Senior Consultant, has almost 25 years of information and instructional technology, planning, and institutional research leadership experience in higher education. She has also led faculty development programs in instructional technology and andragogy and has developed and taught online courses in undergraduate business and graduate education programs. Before joining Kaludis in 2007, Dr. Draper was Chief Information Officer and Associate Professor of Business and Public Administration at Southwest Minnesota State University. Dr. Draper served as director of several instructional technology initiatives for the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU), and served in technology support and management positions at North Dakota State University and South Dakota State University. She holds a BBA degree from Iowa State University, an MBA from North Dakota State University, and an EdD from the University of South Dakota.

William Fenstemacher, Ph.D., Senior Consultant, as more than 30 years of managerial experience in public and private higher educational institutions: small private colleges, large private and public universities, a public community college, and a state coordinating board. His specialties include strategic planning and budgeting, and encompass admissions, financial aid, academic planning, information technology, institutional finance, and development. He holds an AB degree from Oberlin College, an AM from Columbia University-Teachers College, and a PhD from the University of Michigan.

Daniel B. Kline, Senior Consultant, has more than 25 years of strategic planning, marketing, public relations, and foundation management experience in academic health care. Prior to joining Kaludis Consulting in 2006, he served as vice president at St. Francis Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware and its continuum of health services, with operating responsibility for cardiology, pulmonary and neurology services, and the obstetrics/gynecology and women's health services. Mr. Kline's experience also includes having served as the planning officer for the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He holds a BA degree from Wartburg College, and MBA and MS in Health Services Management/Public Health degrees from University of Missouri-Columbia.

John F. Leydon, Senior Consultant, as more than 35 years of information systems management and information technology consulting experience in higher education and industry, including technology strategic planning; computer center management; IT assessment; administrative information system specification and selection; and system implementation project management. Mr. Leydon has also served as interim CIO for several higher education institutions. Before joining Kaludis Consulting in 1986, he served as Vice President for Management Systems and Services at Monarch Life Insurance Company, Director of Administrative Data Processing and Assistant Vice President for Management at the University of Massachusetts, and as Manager of Data Processing for the William E. Wright Co. Presently, Mr. Leydon is serving as the Executive Director, Enterprise Technology for the University System of New Hampshire. He holds BA and MBA degrees from American International College.

Donald L. McDowell, Senior Consultant, has more than 35 years of diverse academic health and university experience, including serving as CEO and COO of MaineHealth (Maine Medical Center), Interim Chancellor of the University of Maine System, and a senior officer for Vanderbilt University, Florida International University, and the University System of Florida. With MaineHealth, Mr. McDowell had broad responsibilities in dealing with the Board, Medical Staff, Administration, patients and external constituents of the Maine Medical Center and built a network of affiliated institutions. He holds a BS degree from Ohio State University.

William D. McGarry, Senior Consultant, has more than 35 years of diverse higher education experience in academic and administrative computing, business and finance, public relations, and management. Before joining Kaludis Consulting in 2006, he served as President of Anna Maria College, Vice President of Administration and Finance at Springfield College, Vice President of Business and Finance/Consultant at Albright College, Chief Financial Officer at Rider University, and Vice President/Treasurer and Chief Business Officer at Franklin Pierce College. Mr. McGarry is a past member of the Colleges Commission of the New England Association of Colleges and Schools and is active in policy organizations relating to Catholic higher education in the United States. He holds a BS degree and MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Oscar Tivis Nelson, Jr., Ph.D., Senior Consultant, has more than 30 years of diverse higher education, research, teaching and managerial experience. He operates a complex operating budget ($1.5 billion) for Vanderbilt and works closely with the Deans of the schools on their strategic plans, budgets, and financial forecasts. Dr. Nelson was a founding faculty member of the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University, and is an expert in higher educational financial data resources. He has been a consultant to Northwestern University where he provided senior counsel on Northwestern's economic system, and supported Kaludis Consulting work in the financial strategy field. Dr. Nelson worked with the predecessor of the Associated Colleges of the South in financial and academic matters. He holds a BA degree from Baylor University, and an MA and PhD from Vanderbilt University.

Kenneth J. Roozen, Ph.D., Senior Consultant, has more than 40 years of experience in higher education teaching, research, research administration, and executive management. In a career that spanned more than two decades at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Dr. Roozen served as professor and department chair, Graduate School dean, Assistant Vice President for Health Affairs, Executive Assistant to the President, Vice President for University Affairs, Vice President for Research and University Affairs, Executive Vice President and Provost, and Executive Director of the UAB Research Foundation. He joined the Medical University of South Carolina in 1997 as founding Executive Director of the MUSC Foundation for Research Development, with responsibility for managing intellectual property, technology transfer, and new business development. He holds a BA degree from Lakeland College, an MA from the University of South Dakota, and PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Tennessee.
